RUINS

The remains of a building, city, etc., that has been destroyed or that is in disrepair or a state of decay.
Some ruins posses an interesting and very much undeniable drawing power. When you encounter such ruins you will be immediately mesmerizing by their beauty.
What is it that gives such ruins so much potency? Perhaps it’s the power of nature that slowly reclaimed her territory. Or is it realization that sometimes hundreds or thousands even, of years of inhabitation by humans took place here?
Just think about all the lives lived here. All the happiness, sorrow, excitement, devastation, anger, hope, that were experienced here… It truly resonates within. It empowers. It screams: MEMENTO MORI!
Remember you must die. All of us will. Hence: live like there is no tomorrow!

I love old architecture. It gives me such a haunting feeling thinking about all the things those structures have witnessed and held. Great post!

Right?! I adore it too. There’s something undeniably enchanting about it. Perhaps it’s that we are in presence of something that was there centuries or millennia ago. Put there by blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestors. Or maybe it’s witnessing something that withstood the sand storms of time… Sometimes it radiates haunting energy, other times simple awe… Thank you for your kind words. 🙏❤️🙏
