1954

hey there
stranger in paradise
I need you now
make love to me!

shake, rattle, and roll
that’s all I want from you
‘till we two are one
there’ll be no tears tonight

Day 29 of 100 of a self-imposed challenge will hopefully resurrect my desire to write once again. The poem above is a collage of song titles that topped the charts throughout the year 1954 when two truly captivating (both in a very different way) books were published: william Golding’s Lord of the Flies and J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.
My obviously overambitious goal is to create one “collage poem” every day for 100 consecutive days. So far it’s been an engaging experience that is showing me how much fun “collage writing” is. Plus, somehow I am slowly inching closer to what I desire to do but somehow can’t get to actually doing (perhaps I am afraid to).

    1. Thank you, dear Alison. I am actually quite surprised how much of a staying power this challenge continues to possess. While the end goal is still far far faaar away from my grasp, it is nevertheless very refreshing and motivating to come back every day and sit in front of a laptop to not only compile the words but also to do the research and while doing that discovering new things, rediscovering some that I already forgot about. Oh and the music… I am very happy to hear you find any kind of interest in these. Thank you deeply. ❤ ❤ ❤
