as it spreads
trickles at first
slowly taking over
flesh heating up
skin starts to burn
as inside surrenders
hair morphs into needles
skin hardens as if serpent’s
faint rumbling echoes
eyes start to gleam
muscles flex into bricks
knuckles crack relentlessly
body becomes disposable
spirit screams within!
as goddess Fury is born
roaring begins
“creatures we,
born to roam,
wild and free!
fed by defiance,
resilient we – persist,
battered and bloody,
fight we – to be free!”
