Day 12: Waterfall

WATERFALL
noun

A cascade of water falling from a height, formed when a river or stream flows over a precipice or steep incline.

There is another kind of a waterfall that can be witnessed or experienced even. It’s a special kind of waterfall for it falls out of humans and is made up from tears.

Sadly not everyone is capable of shedding a big enough flow of tears for it to become a waterfall. One of the reasons for this is an actual physical inability to cry. In my case my tear ducks are either too small to allow any tears through or are non-existent.

A while ago a solution was introduced to me. An artificial tear-duct! I know, it sounds gnarly, especially since it is “installed” into one’s eye via lengthy surgery during which not only one remains fully conscious but also get’s to watch sharp needles and scalpels being repeatedly plunged in and out of the eye.

Yes, it was a gruesome and quite a terrifying experience. However, at least my eyes very ready for a waterfall of tears! Little did I know that artificial tear-duct doesn’t work like that. I admit that I didn’t ask. Instead I assumed that after the surgery I’d become a master of my tears. Well, I didn’t. Though the eye pressure was successfully subdued and is normal now.

Still, to be able to create my own waterfall of tears… that would truly be nice.
