scavengers circle around his broken spirit
in anticipation of mouthwatering feast
consisting of dying flesh his shriveled body offers
once strong and proud, wanderer withered away quickly
as his goddess escaped suddenly into beyond

now he patiently awaits his body to perish
so his soul can once again seek her out
in hopes to catch a glimpse of
no matter how swift and small
her heartwarming magical smile
patiently he awaits to finally just be gone
