1926

bye bye, blackbird
lonesome and sorry
it made you happy
when you made me cry

drifting and dreaming
at peace with the world
there’s a new star
in heaven tonight

Day 82 of 100 of at times a suffocating challenge that combines my love for music and my desire that some day I will write yet again. The poem above is a collage of song titles that topped the charts throughout the year 1926. My insane goal is to create one “collage poem” every day for 100 consecutive days.

    1. Thank you, wondrous Allison. Crows are notorious for flying away if you get too close to them (at least that is my experience with them). This one though was “loitering” on the beach with a couple of his friends. I ignored them as I continued with my morning run. As I got closer two crows flew away and this one remained behind. I took out it my smartphone, dropped down on the sand and started inching closer to him. Why dropped down on the sand? To get the bird in flight with nothing but sky in the background. I actually got quite close and for a few moments thought that he might be hurt when suddenly he spread his wings and leisurely flew away… It was a beautiful day. ♥️♥️♥️
