ocean above

in silence. I hovered over the edge. fighting the messengers of guilt. they camped chained to the floodgates. locking them shut. no tears allowed to cleanse my soul. my hand touched the earth that covered your grave. the moisture of darkest of soils sent chills straight into my heart. a sound that started to echo inside my succumbing heart. or perhaps a melody? a voice? it grew louder. soon I bathed in gentlest of goose bumps filled with memories of us. that’s when I heard your voice singing the lullaby of forever beyond. floodgates disappeared. tears flowed from above as the sky turned into the deep blue ocean. together we swam into the paradise yet to come.
