day 35 . every night

every night i refuse to fall asleep
i lay awake eyes wide open
examining each crack on the wall
observing shadows gently moving
listening to the winds dancing playfully
.
every night i shed long tears
for i realize that one day
the most beautiful of stars
will add bright colors to my world
then fall asleep one last time
.
every night i refuse to fall asleep
i fight furiously to stay conscious
for i am afraid that if i fall asleep
i will miss precious moments
of your magical existence
.
every night i shed long tears
i try to understand the reasons
how on earth is it possible
that the goddess that is you
will one day just be gone
